Looking Back at the 2025 Indigenous Art Intensive

From May 15 to June 18, 2025, artists, scholars, academics and cultural workers came together once again on Syilx territory for the annual Indigenous Art Intensive at UBC Okanagan. As the summer draws to a close, we reflect on this year’s program which brought together a vibrant cohort of 16 artists in residence, who shared their practices through public talks, studio work, workshops, and community exchanges.

Art Collective opens new exhibition at UBC Okanagan

Troubling Times: Traces, Portals and Groundings opens on Monday, May 26, 2025 and features works from The Troublemakers collective of Peter Morin, Justine Woods and Nicole Neidhardt. The exhibition traces out ancestral lines in skin, fabric and light-captured with digital devices to reflect distinct experiences with family, heritage and the passing of time.
